Mauser C-96 was developed in 1843 by brothers Feederle - Fidel, Friedrich, Josef and improved together with Paul Mauser and Mr. Geiser. The project was done in 1895 and sampling production started same time. March 15, 1895 the gun was introduced to Wilhelm II. September 11, 1895 Paul Mauser patented his own design - patent №90430 (one more patent he got in United Kingdom later). Now the gun has official name - «Mauser-Selbstlade-Pistole». In 1910 name changed on «C-96» (Construktion 96). It was gun for 6,35×15,5 HR cartridge. But it wasn't official name (mostly for traders and importers only). Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. called the gun «Mauser-Selbstlade-Pistole». Another official name was "Model 1930". All other modifications as "Model 1912" or "Bolo" are slang. Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. improved Mauser C-96 many times especially from 1896 to 1905. Length, capacity, magazine's shape, handle's shape, hammer and exterior. Some models have just different serial number location. Today well-known about 130 modifications.
