Alexei Nikolaevich (Russian: Алексе́й Никола́евич) (12 August 1904 [O.S. 30 July] – 17 July 1918) of the House of Romanov, was the Tsesarevich and heir apparent to the throne of the Russian Empire. He was the youngest child and only son of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna.  

Tsesarevich Alexei Nikolayevich was ataman of the Cossack armies (from July 30, 1904), and was also the chief commander of the range of Army & Guards regiments.
