Each pant leg consists of two halves – front and back and has two seams – side and step. In the front the trousers have a cut fastener with 1 button and a belt fastener with 2 buttons. To tighten the scarovars from behind sew two harnesses with holes at the ends for passing a cord or twine. There are three rivets at the waistband of both pant legs for passing the trouser belt. ASSEMBLY AND FITTING OF ASSAULT EQUIPMENT – INSTRUCTION:
Put the following items on the waist belt in order of sequence, winding them from the free end of the belt :
1. On the left side of the belt :
a) left ammunition pouch at the same time as the left front end of the shoulder strap; this latter pass between the pouch’s shoulder straps;
b) bayonet scabbard – with its own loop;
c) grenade pouch – with both loops;
2.On the middle of the belt – the back end of the shoulder strap, one of the three loops (depending on height).
3.On the right side of the belt:
a) a flask in a pouch on the shoulder strap;
b) shovel in a pouch – with both loops;
c) spare and belt pouches – both at once together with the right end of the shoulder strap in the following order: right loop of the spare pouch, right shoulder strap of the belt pouch, left loop of the spare pouch, shoulder strap and, finally, left shoulder strap of the belt pouch.
The result of this assembly is that the belt pouch should be in front, the spare pouch under the belt pouch, somewhat behind it, and the strap in the middle of the belt pouch.
If the spare ammunition pouch, grenade pouch and flask pouch are held on independent shoulder straps, they must be worn under the waist belt in the following order: the grenade pouch over the right shoulder on the left side, and the ammunition pouch and flask over the left shoulder on the right side. The ammunition reserve pouch should be under the belt ammunition pouch slightly behind it, and the flask behind the ammunition reserve pouch.
Adjust the shoulder strap of the assault equipment to your height so that the place where its front and rear ends meet is in the middle of the back, in the hollow between the shoulder blades, and so that the front ends diverging from here fit loosely and tightly across the shoulders.
Adjust the length of the strap by moving the buckles so that the front ends do not slip off the shoulders and the strap supports the waist belt with the items worn on it.
Fit the waist belt at the waist so that the buckle comes to the front in the middle of the body. Tighten the belt so that the items on it (grenades, ammunition, shovel, etc.) do not pull the waist belt down (approximately so that three fingers can barely fit flat under the belt).
When putting the waist belt with a strap on the overcoat, the belt together with the rear end of the strap should be tucked under the halter from above so that it rests on the buttons.
1. PACK SETTING.
Backpack description
The backpack has two narrow straps at the bottom, each with two buckles, for attaching accessories to the tent and raincoat. At the bottom of the satchel in the middle is sewn a back gort with a hook for attaching to the waist belt.
The satchel has 4 overcoat straps, one of which (the long one) is intended for tying the ends of the overcoat roll when the roll is to be worn over the shoulder.
Before stowing the satchel, prepare all the items to be stowed. Put the satchel on the back wall with the opening facing you and stow it:
(a) In the inner pocket of the satchel, a pair of underwear, over it a spare towel, a pair of spare shirts and handkerchiefs.
All the above items should be placed flat, without folds, according to the size of the pocket so that a soft layer is formed between the back and the hard objects (mug, bowler, etc.) in the satchel.
b) On the bottom of the satchel, according to the width, – a sack with food supplies and wrapped salt.
c) On the right side – a sack with repair stock; in it – a mug with sugar and tea enclosed in it and wrapped separately.
d) On the left side, next to the mug – a kettle in a pouch with bread enclosed inside the kettle. The kettle in the satchel should always be in a cover or wrapped in paper.
e) On top of the mug – a neatly folded consumable towel, and along the side of the satchel – a spoon.
Tie the stowed satchel with the laces, loop the ends and then fasten the flap strap with the buckle.
(e) Place a toiletry item in a pouch in the right outer pocket and a rifle item in a pouch in the left outer pocket and fasten the flap straps by the buckle.
To avoid spoiling the satchel with rifle grease, wipe the oiler thoroughly before putting it in the pouch, close its neck tightly and wrap it with hemp or cloth.
PREPARATION AND FASTENING OF AN OVERCOAT ROLL
Unbutton the left button and spread the overcoat face down; spread the sleeves to the sides; pull back the collar and straighten the folds and pockets; fold the upper part of the overcoat over the lower part of the overcoat across the entire width at the line of the overcoat flap; evenly fold the corners of the overcoat floor and the ends of the sleeves on each side; turn the overcoat hem to the upper edge of the collar.
Tightly roll up the folded overcoat, starting from the waist, all the time straightening the formed folds, equalizing the ends and compacting the roll with your knees, so as to get a tight and flat roll.
The prepared overcoat roll should be laid horseshoe-shaped on the satchel with the fold downwards; well equalize the ends of the roll; holding the ends of the roll from below, put the satchel on the right side wall and tighten the left side of the roll with the overcoat belt, and then turning the satchel over, tighten the right side of the roll with the second belt.
The rope should be well spread out and tightly fit the satchel. The ends of the strap should be in line with the bottom wall (bottom) of the satchel.
The shoulder roll is made longer, without tucking the ends of the sleeves. It is bent in half, and its ends are tightly tied with a long overcoat belt.
and wrap it with soot or rags.
ATTACHING THE PEGS AND TENT CLOACLE PANELS
The pins and raincoat are secured under the bottom of the backpack with two straps.
First, wrap and tie two half-posts and two pegs with a cord (rope) and put them in a cover, and then fold the raincoat cloth into a bundle and put an individual camouflage net inside the bundle.
Loosen the tent straps, thread each of them into the loops of the joke bag, and then into the belt loops of the backpack and fasten it fully with one buckle, and place the end of the straps into a fixed loop. Using the second buckle, secure the folded bundle of the raincoat; Place the ends of the belts into the belt loops.
The attached pegs and the cloth of the raincoat should not be adjacent to the body.
ATTACHING PROTECTIVE STOCKINGS
Place the rolled up stockings on top of the overcoat roll and, at the same time as attaching the overcoat roll, attach the stockings with the top straps.
ATTACHING THE STEEL HELMET
Unfasten the chin strap, pass one end of it into the frame of the backpack, located in the middle of the upper wall of the backpack, between the shoulder straps, tightly tie the ends of the chin straps, throw the strap of the backpack valve over them and fasten it with a buckle. The part of the helmet located at the top should be covered with an overcoat roll.
FITTING THE PACK TO ASSAULT EQUIPMENT
Adjust the length of the shoulder and slope straps. To do this, it is necessary that the upper edge of the backpack is at shoulder level and lies flat, without being pulled back.
Sloping straps, where they are sewn to the wide part of the shoulder straps, should be one or two fingers above the line of the breast nipples (at the level of the flap of the breast pockets of the tunic); The slope straps fastened to the backpack must be taut, thus supporting the backpack and preventing it from going down the back.
Shoulder straps hooked to the ammo bag frames must also be tight and support the ammo bags.
Adjust the length of the dorsal collar with the hook so that the collar, when the hook is fastened to the waist belt, is slightly stretched and holds the backpack when bending forward and to the sides.
Having done all this, you will correctly adjust the shoulder and waist straps.
PACKING THE Duffle BAG
In the part of the bag that will be adjacent to the back, place: linen, a towel, footcloths and handkerchiefs; at the bottom of the bag, along its width – a supply of food (untouchable) and salt, well wrapped; in the left corner of the bag – carefully wiped and wrapped gun accessories; on the biscuits on the left – a kettle in a cover with the daily allowance of bread inserted into the kettle; to the right of the pot, also on the biscuits, is a repair stock, and on the last one is a mug, with the handle facing the outside. Place wrapped sugar and tea in a mug. On top of the mug are toiletries wrapped in a disposable towel.
Pull the packed bag along the top edge with twine; Twist this part of the bag slightly and tighten the resulting neck tightly with a loop of the shoulder strap.
When wearing the cloth of the raincoat and its accessories in a duffel bag, the raincoat is folded into a bag and placed in the bag on the side towards the back, and then linen and other items are placed on it in the order described above.
Accessories for the tent, tied with a cord, are placed at the bottom of the bag on the outside.
The duffel bag with the contents placed in it is put on the back and carried on shoulder straps, which are tightened on the chest with a jumper.
The shoulder straps of the bag should be the same length.
The overcoat and cloak-tent are worn over the left shoulder with the fold down.
3. PUTTING ON, REMOVING AND CARRYING HIKE EQUIPMENT
Putting on, taking off and wearing hiking equipment
Carefully straighten your uniform: carefully straighten the folds of your underwear, tunic, especially on the shoulders, fasten all the buttons and hooks, straighten the back fold of your overcoat, straighten the collar. If you don’t do this, you can rub your shoulders, back and hips.
Place an individual package in the left pocket of the tunic, and a medallion in the inner front pocket of the trousers on the left side.
Put on the fitted and assembled equipment so that:
a) the waist belt tightened the waist tightly, the belt buckle was strictly in the middle of the body; tuck the free end into the stationary belt clamp and under the cartridge bag;
b) the front ends of the shoulder strap were in a tense position, and the rear end was strictly in the middle of the back;
c) cartridge bags were located in front, on both sides of the belt buckle, at a distance of two fingers from it; spare cartridge bag – on the right, under the right cartridge bag;
d) grenade bag – on the left side, behind the left cartridge bag and bayonet case;
e) flask – on the right side, behind the shovel (axe);
f) shovel (axe) – on the right buttock;
After you put on your assault equipment, straighten out all the folds of your tunic (overcoat); if necessary, tighten the buckles of the front ends of the shoulder strap.
Put on the gas mask bag (with the protective cape included in it) with the shoulder strap over the right shoulder over the shoulder straps of the equipment so that the gas mask bag is on the left side behind the grenade bag; The top edge of the gas mask bag should be level with the top edge of the waist belt and the flap facing out.
Put the packed backpack “behind your back”, for which:
a) take the shoulder straps with your hands crosswise and with a sharp push throw the backpack behind your back, at the same time putting your left hand into the loop of the shoulder strap, bending it at the elbow;
b) with your right hand, fasten the right slope belt to the hook of the lower wall of the backpack, supporting the backpack from below with your left hand;
c) straighten the sleeves and folds of the tunic (overcoat);
d) fasten the back hook of the backpack to the waist belt, passing it under the belt;
e) fasten the front end of the right shoulder strap with a hook buckle to the half-ring of the right cartridge bag;
f) fasten the front end of the left shoulder strap with a hook buckle to the half-ring of the left cartridge bag, passing it under the gas mask braid.
After putting on the backpack, check the correct fit of the shoulder and slope straps. A properly fitted backpack will lie flat on your back, with the upper edge of the body at shoulder level.
