A nice cossack shashka (lower ranks) 1881 type with presentation inscription "От Трафима Авдеева Калиткина Пр.В-П. 1908". Has military inspection, "Zlatoust" and "1904" stamps. The hilt has "Zlatoust" stamp and "1903" stamp as well. Wooden hilt with linear fullers. Brass head with sword knot hook. Black faux leather scabbard with brass device. Total length: 100.5cm In 1881 above type shashka replaced cossack shashka 1838 type in all cossack military forces except of caucasian cossack. Was very popular during the WWI and after the Revolution.
