Leib Guardia Officer black lacquer cuirass (Cuirassier Regiment) 1830s. A very thin tin base, round folding makes cuirass more firm . Classy cuirass design: 2 parts for breast and back protection. Breast part has vertical acting edge and gilded brass two-headed eagle (same as civil infantry's shako has). It was "must have item" for Leib Guardia officers according to Act (February 27, 1833). There are two brass pins for belts under the eagles. Brown leather rim with twisted red cord on the edge. Breast part has wadded lining. Black lacquer back part has 4-5 festoony-type scales leather belts. Scales is black lacquer except of gilded brass snap. Belt has pulling together ripped off (one side) leather thong. Has wadded lining as well.
According to Act (May 7, 1846) Leib Guardia Cuirassier Regiment  got new yellow copper and polished (instead of lacquer) cuirass. They used those one cuirasses for 13 years.
We would like to let you know that cuirass has excellent condition, originally putted elements and original black lacquer color. A nice unique cuirass looks like only one exists.
