Excellent quality copy of the Order of Glory, III degree. During production, the original order was used as a sample, so this copy has the maximum resemblance to the original. The dummy is made of brass, silver plated, the cold enamel is identical in shade to the original one. Over time, silver develops a layer of beautiful patina.
The order is on a “correct” two-layer brass block, repeating the original block from the time of the Great Patriotic War.
The size is exactly the same as the original:
The diameter of the circumscribed circle is 48 mm.
The distance between opposite vertices is 46 mm.
Weight – 21 g.
The dummy is intended for use in cinema, theatrical productions and military-historical reconstructions.
Please note that when worn on a uniform, only the Order of Glory III degree could be worn separately. According to the Statute, this order was awarded sequentially – from the lowest degree to the highest. Accordingly, the Order of Glory of the III degree could be worn independently, the Order of the II degree could be worn with the III degree, and the I degree of the order could only be worn by a full cavalier – the holder of all three degrees.
The Order of Glory was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 8.11.1943 “On the Establishment of the Order of Glory I, II and III degree”. The Order of Glory on its Statute and ribbon colors almost completely repeated one of the most revered in pre-revolutionary Russia awards – St. George’s Cross (among the differences – a different number of degrees: 3 and 4 respectively. When considering the project of the new order the number of degrees was reduced by Stalin to three). The Order of Glory (as previously soldier St. George’s Cross – in the tsarist army) was designed to award persons of rank and sergeant staff of the Red Army, only in aviation it could be awarded to persons with the rank of junior lieutenant. The Order was awarded only for personal combat merits and feats, military units and formations were not awarded with it.
In the Statute of the Order of Glory the list of combat merits is quite detailed, as well as in the Statute of the Order of the Patriotic War: “The Order of Glory is awarded to the one who:
